Honda RC211V was developed in 2001, the company's HRC (Honda Racing Corporation), and replaced the motobike Honda NSR500. The exchange occurred mainly due to the change in the rules for grand prix when specials changed the content of the engine 2 - stroke 500ccm to 4 - stroke 990ccm.
